Radio Music Review: Himesh Reshammiya Rocks
Dont know what fate has in store for Radio, but Himesh Reshammiya is definitely back with this pleasant album. The maverick music director whose best work is in slow numbers instead of the boisterous ones, has done a very good job in Radio. We would put Radio in the top three best albums by Himesh till now
Radio is basically a soft album, easy on ears. Mann ka Radio has Himmesh singing in his new found voice, and the bhangra filled 'Zindagi Jaise Radio' is high on rhythm. Jaaneman is arguably, the best song of 2009. A simple, silken, soft number, it is very soothing and made for those candle-lit moments. It is refreshing to hear Himesh subdued and when Shreya Goshal joins him, it is all the more pleasing. 'Piya Jaise Motichur Ladoo" has a classical music feel and by listening to this much, we wonder why did Himesh force people to berate him with repetitive trash over the past few years? 'Teri Meri Dosti ka Aasman' has the opening line similar to one of Shania Twain's popular numbers, but thereafter the song is quite entertaining. It is also pleasing to hear Shreya Goshal miming her voice, to sound that of an adolescent girl. Shaam Ho Chali Hai is another song that demands repetitive hearing. The album closes with yet another interesting and cute song 'Raffa Daffa' sung well by Himesh Reshammiya; this song has a haunting feel that goes in your mind, even after you're done with the album
