Unfair performance appraisal
If you have disagreements with the way your performance appraisal was done, the first thing to do is to speak directly to the manager or the supervisor who had evaluated you. Do not grumble or show your frustration with other colleagues. You should tell your supervisor or manager to spare some time for you, so that you can have an uninterrupted chat with her/him.
Do not criticize or blame the supervisor for lack of clarity. Acknowledge whenever possible and do not interrupt when your supervisor puts his/her points across. Explain your points objectively, and if you have facts by your side, then you will definitely be able to get your point across. Do not belittle another employee or complain that someone else got a better deal. Explain your point clearly and politely. Your performance may speak, but I reckon you should also “voice” it at the right time so that your boss is kept in the loop.
If you have got an unfair appraisal, do not worry: there is hope. You have to think smart and act smarter. Make sure you keep your boss in the loop about your performances. Keep him informed about the goals you have set for future, so that he/she knows exactly where you are heading.
